Visit of the Hon. Minister of Energy Visits to the Muthurajawela Lubricant Blending plant

Hon. Minister of Energy, Udaya Prabhath Gammanpila (Attorney-at-Law) his first official visit to Muthurajawela Lubricant Blending plant was on 24.08.2020 after assuming duties as the Energy Minister.

Secretary to the Ministry Mrs. K.D.R. Olga, Chairman of Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Mr. Sumith Wijesinghe (Attorney-at-Law), president Managing Director of Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Mr Buddika Madihahewa, President of Progressive workers’ Union of Commerce and Industrial Services Mr. Bandula Saman Kumara and there officers, CPCLubricant Function Staff also were present at the occasion.

Hon. Minister of Energy, Udaya Prabhath Gammanpila (Attorney-at-Law) his first official visit to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Head Office on 18.08.2020 after assuming duties as the Energy Minister.

Secretary to the Ministry Mrs. K.D.R. Olga, Chairman of Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Mr. Sumith Wijesinghe (Attorney-at-Law), and president of Progressive workers’ Union of Commerce and Industrial Services Mr. Bandula Saman Kumara also addressed the gathering. The top management and staff of the CEYPETCO head office were present at the occation.

CPC mulls $ 20-30 m investment to develop 25 oil tanks in Trincomalee

  • The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) is to develop 25 oil tanks in Trincomalee with an estimated investment of $20-30 million, a top official told the Daily FT
  • “We requested government support to take over 25 oil tanks from the remaining 84 tanks and renovate them” CPC Chairman Sumith Wijesinghe said.
  • During the previous regime the Cabinet approved a proposal to have complete land ownership under Government, hand over the complete ownership of 15 tanks to LIOC.
  • However, the CPC Chairman said lack of Government enthusiasm to engage with all parties involved in the project previously ended up with no progress on the Trincomalee oil tanks.
